1. About Reliable Menders

Reliable Menders is a mobile marketplace that connects individuals who require home and artisan services ("Clients") with skilled, KYC-verified service providers ("Contractors"). The platform is operated by Reliable Menders and is currently available in Nigeria.

By downloading the app, creating an account, or using any part of our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

To use Reliable Menders you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be located in or providing services within Nigeria.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe does not meet these requirements.

3. Account Types

There are two types of accounts on Reliable Menders:

  • Client Account — for any individual or entity that wants to post a job and hire a service provider. Clients are not required to be registered businesses; anyone needing a home service can create a Client account.
  • Contractor Account — for skilled artisans and service providers who wish to offer their services on the platform. Contractors must complete KYC verification before they can be listed and receive job requests.

4. KYC Verification (Contractors)

All Contractors must pass our Know Your Customer (KYC) process before their profiles are made visible to Clients. The process includes:

  • Submission of a valid government-issued ID (NIN, Passport, Driver's Licence, or Voter's Card).
  • A selfie taken at the time of registration for identity matching.

Clients requiring address verification must also submit proof of address (bank statement, utility bill, or rental agreement). Reliable Menders reserves the right to decline or revoke verification at its discretion.

5. How Jobs Work

  1. A Client posts a job describing the service needed, the location, and any relevant details.
  2. Matched, verified Contractors submit bids or are suggested by the platform.
  3. The Client selects a Contractor and agrees on the scope and price through the app.
  4. The Client funds the project via the app. Funds are held securely by Reliable Menders until the job is confirmed complete.
  5. The Contractor performs the work. Upon completion, they mark the job done via the app.
  6. The Client reviews and confirms the work. Once confirmed, the agreed amount is released to the Contractor's Reliable Menders wallet.

Reliable Menders acts solely as an intermediary. We do not employ Contractors and are not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of any work performed.

6. Payments

All payments are processed in Nigerian Naira (₦) through Paystack, our third-party payment processor. By making or receiving a payment on the platform, you also agree to Paystack's terms of service.

Funds paid by a Client for a project are held by Reliable Menders and are not released until the Client confirms satisfactory completion of the work.

7. Platform Fees

Reliable Menders charges the following fees:

  • Withdrawal Fee: 3% of the withdrawal amount, capped at a maximum of ₦2,000 per withdrawal. This fee is deducted from the Contractor's wallet balance at the time of withdrawal. The applicable payment processor transfer fee also applies separately.
  • Dispute Filing Fee: A flat, non-refundable fee of ₦5,000 is charged to the party that initiates a dispute. This fee applies regardless of the outcome of the dispute.

Reliable Menders reserves the right to update its fee structure at any time. Changes will be communicated to users via in-app notification and will take effect 14 days after notification.

8. Withdrawals

Contractors may withdraw their available wallet balance to a registered Nigerian bank account at any time. Withdrawal requests are subject to review and approval by Reliable Menders. Approved withdrawals are typically processed within 1–3 business days.

We reserve the right to place holds on withdrawals where fraud, a pending dispute, or a policy violation is suspected.

9. Disputes

If a Client or Contractor cannot resolve a disagreement about a project directly, either party may file a formal dispute through the app. Filing a dispute costs ₦5,000 (non-refundable). Our resolution team will:

  1. Notify the other party of the dispute.
  2. Review all available evidence — messages, photos, and project history.
  3. Issue a binding resolution decision.

The decision of Reliable Menders' resolution team is final. Funds held in escrow will be released in accordance with the decision.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information during registration or KYC.
  • Conduct or arrange transactions outside the Reliable Menders platform to circumvent fees.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any other user.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or any system not authorised for your use.
  • Post fake reviews or engage in any form of rating manipulation.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination, withholding of funds pending investigation, and/or referral to law enforcement authorities.

11. Ratings & Reviews

After each completed project, both parties may leave an honest rating and review. Reviews must be factual and must not contain offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory content. Reliable Menders reserves the right to remove any review that violates these guidelines.

12. Liability Limitation

Reliable Menders is a marketplace platform and does not directly perform or guarantee any service. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law:

  • We are not liable for any property damage, personal injury, or financial loss arising from services performed by Contractors.
  • We are not liable for the conduct of any user on or off the platform.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us as platform fees in the three months prior to the claim.

13. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on the Reliable Menders platform (including the app, website, and logo) are owned by or licensed to Reliable Menders. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reproduce any part of the platform without our written permission.

14. Privacy

Your personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the platform you consent to such collection and use. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

15. Termination

Either party may terminate their account at any time. Reliable Menders may suspend or terminate any account without notice if we determine there has been a breach of these Terms. Upon termination, any outstanding wallet balance that is not subject to a hold or dispute will be paid out to the Contractor's registered bank account after deducting applicable fees.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via in-app notification at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms that cannot be resolved through our internal dispute process shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
